Hi I'm Jennifer from Big D and Me and I am thrilled to be guest posting for Tammy. I am a former teacher turned stay at home mom of 3 -Alex (8), Andrew (5), and Caroline (1). Even though I am constantly on the go I love to craft, create things, be silly with my kids, and record their humorous moments. I am new to this whole blog world so I'd love some feedback or comments.
Please stop by Big D and Me, look around, and stay awhile.
Purse-sized Activities While You Wait
There are days when I feel like I am always at one appointment or another, either for my kids, myself, or my car. I get a little tired of constantly trying to entertain the kids at these appointments. I also get tired of carrying around an enormous bag of activities and toys which are supposed to keep them busy but never quite do. So I thought to myself, I need something small that will entertain the oldest two. My daughter is easy, just hand her my purse and she will go to town. The older two, not so much.
And before I begin...please excuse my snot and burping poetry cards.....I have boys....they tend to like that kind of stuff.
I started by creating 48 Activity_Cards which have a variety of problems or prompts for kids to work on. There are cards that deal with math, social studies, sports, poetry, word puzzles, or are just high interest.
I printed out the cards and cut them apart.
Since the goal was to have activities for my kids which would fit in my purse, I used a plastic coupon holder to hold the activity cards.
I also included 3 pencils, a pencil sharpener, and an eraser into the coupon holder.
Now I have many high interest activities to entertain my older kids when we're waiting somewhere. I hope you are able to use these cards in some way to help you retain your sanity while waiting and waiting and waiting....
Make sure you come back to Big D and Me tomorrow for my first giveaway!
