Bootie Mama

My daughter told me she wanted a pair of these baby shoes to give to the dental assistant at the orthodontist's office. OK. That was early last fall. The assistant was on maternity leave for three months after she had her baby. I had about 6 months to make these. And, I got them done the day before I needed them. Wrapped them the morning we had the appointment.

But the best part is still coming. The shoes were a huge hit. All of the orthodontists and assistants were back there ooh-ing and ah-ing over them. I could hear it from the waiting room. Then, the orthodontist caught me at the counter as he walked by and asked, "Are you the bootie mama?" Um, yes, no, yeah. I looked like an idiot--I just didn't know how to respond to that question. Then he told me, "You need to start a business and sell those. They are so cute!" Well, how nice! And, could I refer you to this post on my blog?
I am trying; I am trying!

AHHHHHH! You need to stop being so amazingly crafty.
I tried making a pair of booties for a friend and they were DISASTER! But I am so excited you are doing some of your sewing posts, you stitching genius, you.

Where did you find the patterns for your shoes? They are so cute!!! I've found the robeez style pattern, but nothing much with extra cuteness like yours! :) your blog...such good ideas! :)

You never cease to amaze me! I love these booties (and the pink ones from earlier)! Is it okay to have another kid just to get some adorable little booties? :) Hmmm...maybe not...I guess I'll just have to send them to my sisters.

By the way, I love the "bootie mama" story. How is anyone supposed to answer that question? :)
