52 projects--started! (finished?)

OK, you know I started with easy ones, right? I need to get a running start because I have been here before. I chose my first projects using strict criteria (teehee):
  •  I can complete it quickly and check it off my list OR
  •  It has to be done right away for one reason or another
I have had the frames for this since before Lady-loo was born. I just knew I needed 4 inexpensive pink frames from Target when I saw them.
It took me a while to decide what I wanted to do with this. For the first two years of her little life, they were supposed to be bug/butterfly/bee/flower pictures. I made the images I wanted and copied them to cardstock. I couldn't decide how to color them or even what I really wanted them to look like. That pile sat for a l-o-n-g time. Then, it was time for the move to the big girl bed. We had a little musical quilts experience as all three girls had some changes and this is how Avery's stuff ended up. She got Olivia's bird quilt and instead of making bird pictures for O's room, I made them for Avery. Sad that it took so long. Luckily, while gathering supplies for a fall craft, I went ahead and got the papers for the bird pics because the store was going out of business. Nothing like being gone to motivate me.

Finally, this project is done and it only took a couple of hours. The hardest part was photographing the pictures! (Really not a photographer. And, honestly, where can I find good natural light--it is gray and gloomy an awful lot of the time here in Michigan! Please just bear with my pictures.)

My family kept asking if it was fabric or if I stitched certain parts. I can assure you it was easier than that. This is all paper, pencils, glue and chalk.

For each picture, I literally copied parts of the quilt that I liked. Then, I used scrapbook paper to make the parts. I can't really share a pattern because I think that would be considered copyright infringement. But, you can get the idea and easily copy this idea if you are so inclined.

Here's what each picture looks like:

Really, I am quite pleased. And I want all four of my readers to know that I finished something! Yay! I would probably change a few things if I did it again, but I used glue dots and they are pretty sticky. Besides, this is done and I can only check it off when it is done, so I am not going back! Maybe I should list "hanging bird pictures" as another project 'cause you know that is a project in and of itself!

I am dizzy with excitement over these birds!!!! You know I have thing for cutie patootie birds, right? And I honestly can say that I can NOT believe I have had yet to follow your blog because every single, stinkin' time I get on here, I am glued to the screen. I'm no longer a lurker but a bona fide follower. Your creativity is wonderful and what is spooky is that today I was just getting this inspiration itch to do a fabric/felty project in frames as a gift. And if you are like me, the itch gets worse until you do it. Are you also like me in that when you get excited you leave novel length comments that you may have to take water breaks for and come back to later in order to finish? I'm done.

Tammy, for some reason I hadn't seen you blog before. Kristen was looking at it the other day when she was here and I realized that I've been missing out on seeing all of your crafts and pictures of the girls...Super Cute (the crafts and the girls).
